Launch of the project "RESET 2022: energy efficient, green schools".

As part of the RESET Architectural Movement, the RESET 2022: Energy Efficient, Green Schools project was officially launched.


We had the honor to receive our like-minded people, partners and friends at the event today! In the first panel of our event there was a dialogue, which confirmed the desire of all project participants to take an active part in creating a European, comfortable and safe environment for our children's learning. Therefore, the theme of this year's RESET 2022 is dedicated to the development of a project of ideas for the construction of energy-efficient and environmentally friendly educational institutions.


 

Olena Shulyak, Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on State Organization, Local Self-Government, Regional Development and Urban Planning and Natalia Kozlovska, Deputy Minister of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine, presented positive changes in legislation that will help architects and communities to design and build schools according to new building norms and standards: energy efficient, ecological and inclusive. Ima Khrenova-Shymkina, Director of the Project "Promotion of Energy Efficiency and Implementation of the EU Directive in Ukraine" GIZ, stressed the importance of exchanging experiences between German experts in the field of energy efficiency and architectural environment, communities to achieve energy independence of our country. Alexander Slobozhan stressed the importance for communities to create a space in which they want to live and build their future. And the experience of Ecosoft, represented at the event by Andriy Mitchenko, CEO of NGO Ecosoft, shows that not only the use of energy-efficient building materials affects the status of the school of the future, but also the creation of a new system of thinking of our children reasonable consumption of resources, in particular, the creation of a culture of economical consumption of drinking water.


We received the full support of the National Union of Architects of Ukraine in organizing and conducting the architectural competition RESET 2022, for which we are very grateful and introduced all project participants to the Jury of the competition. This year the members of our jury were Anna Bondar, Chairman of the Subcommittee on Urban Development, Landscaping and Land Relations within the Territories of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on the Organization of State Power, Local Self-Government, Regional Development and Urban Development; Mario Bodem, co-founder of ING + ARCH, TAE, VAFA and DENA energy advisor; Yevhen Plashchenko, Director General of the Directorate of Spatial Planning of Territories and Architecture of the Ministry of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine; Oleg Pikushchenko, Vice President, Chairman of the Architectural Chamber of NSAU; Olga Podushkina, director and GAP of her own architectural workshop FPA-architect, chairman of the commission on copyright and professional ethics of NSAU, chairman of the expert commission of the Architectural Chamber of NSAU. The participants of the second panel discussion identified tools for the development of architecture in local communities on the principles of green building and stressed the importance of holding architectural competitions as the only democratic decision-making tool in local communities.

Natalia Dyuzhilova, Vice President of Business for Partnership, moderated a panel during which all participants discussed the role of the state, local governments, international partners and business in building modern, energy efficient and environmentally friendly educational institutions. Speakers at the discussion were: Gennady Farenyuk, Director of the State Enterprise "State Research Institute of Building Structures", Ivan Fursenko, Advisor to the Executive Director of the Association of Ukrainian Cities in Rural Areas, Anton Kolomiytsev, Chief Architect of Lviv, Svitlana Berzina, President of Zhiva Planeta ”and Larysa Starozhyk, director of Bucha Lyceum №1.


Today we discussed important topics that concern our society: the successful implementation of architectural pilot projects, exchanged experiences on architectural competitions, and the crucial topic of energy efficiency and green building of educational institutions.
